For providing Maternal health services to the greater low-income communities of Mohammadpur (Specially the Bihari population) DSK and BRAC mutually agreed under an sub grant agreement for providing Maternal health services. This project is specifically designed to support the health and well-being of pregnant women and mothers. These services aim to ensure that women receive adequate care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. It also includes:
- Prenatal care: Prenatal care includes regular medical check-ups and monitoring during pregnancy to ensure the health and well-being of both the mother and the baby. Prenatal care can also include tests and screenings to detect and manage any potential health issues.
- Childbirth services: Childbirth services provide care and support during labor and delivery. This may include pain management, assistance with labor, caesarean section and monitoring of the mother and baby’s vital signs. For BRAC, DSK Hospital offering normal delivery at free of cost and if caesarean section needed (after evaluation of medical indication for Caesar) the package cost is 11,000 takas only. From which patient will arrange only 6,000 taka and rest 5,000 taka will adjust by hospital from BRAC subsequently.
- Postnatal care: Postnatal care is important to support the mother’s recovery after childbirth and to monitor the health and well-being of the baby. Postnatal care includes medical check-ups, breastfeeding support, and screening for postpartum depression.
- Family planning: Family planning services can help women plan their pregnancies and ensure that they are prepared for childbirth.
- Counselling: Counselling services can help women understand the importance of maternal health and provide them with the information and support they need to make informed decisions about their health and the health of their baby.
